Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Held at the Snowflake Municipal Golf Course,
hundreds of children and their parents come out to search for
several thousand eggs, donated by a local supermarket. Special
plastic eggs that are found are turned in for prizes at the
end of the hunt. Lucky children can also find 4 Grand Prize
eggs (divided by age groups), which entitles them to the
special Grand Prize basket of toys and candy. The event is
held on the Friday or Saturday before Easter, weather
permitting.
Free Swim Days
On opening day (usually Memorial Day), or
special commemorative days (such as Pioneer Days, Fourth of
July Celebration, or Tobacco Education and Prevention Day) the
pool is open at no cost.
Each Thursday night during the summer months,
starting at 7:30, local musicians entertain residents and
visitors in the cool shade of our Pioneer Park. A variety of
music and activities fills the cools summer nights.
Both a men's and women's tournament attracts
visitors from throughout the State who come to celebrate the
Fourth of July in Snowflake's cool summer nights, along with
other events (such as a rodeo and dance) that occur during
this traditional patriotic time.
A 10-k and 2-mile fun run is offered each
year. Several dozen participants vie for the titles that are
offered in several age and gender categories.
Also a 10k or 2-mile run, a hundred
participants that come to the Town for Pioneer Days. Pioneer
Days is a weekend long celebration of the Pioneer spirit that
forged the livelihood of the early residents of this part of
Arizona. The celebration includes a rodeo, parade, barbeque,
dance, and fireworks. The fireworks are set off at the rodeo
grounds at the end of the rodeo.
Families come from around the state to escape
the heat and enjoy a solid competition of several dozen men's
and women's teams. The event runs the entire weekend, and
awards are presented to winning teams in several divisions.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Santa Claus makes a special appearance on the
Snowflake Fire Engine, where crowds gather at Heritage Square.
Goody bags, cookies and hot chocolate, holiday music, and
cheer combine to form this festive event. The Christmas Tree
Lighting is a culmination of the 12 Days of Christmas
Celebration, where residents come together for special holiday
inspired events.
