Recreation and Parks Programs

The recreation programs are combined between the Town of Snowflake and the Town of Taylor to the south. Throughout the year, a wide variety of activities and programs are available for residents:

  • Basketball
    Over 250 games are played among almost 100 teams, ranging from a Little League Basketball Program, to Jr. High, Men's League, and a Veterans League.

  • Volleyball 
    Over 100 games are played during the season, with both a women's and coed league.

  • Softball    
    Over 850 games are played in tournaments and leagues for almost 150 teams.

  • Baseball
    Almost 1200 games are played among a total of 246 teams, ranging through all ages and abilities. Close to 3,000 participants are involved in the Little and Junior Leagues.

  • Soccer
    The Snowflake/Taylor Youth Soccer League is home to over 350 children in the communities, participating in over 20 teams.

  • Swimming
    With a variety of specialized swim programs, lessons, and free swim days, the pool is visited over 13,000 times in a year. Open June-July.

  • Special Camps
    Snowflake Recreation and Parks Department participates or supports special camps for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, golf, yoga, and arts and crafts.

  • Seasonal Events
    The department participates or hosts such seasonal events as the Easter Egg Hunt and Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

  • Other Activities
    include baton, dance, tumbling, and Tae Kwon Do, from primary school children to early teens.

  • Runs
    Each year, the Department actively participates in Celebration and Fun Runs for the Fourth of July and Pioneer Days.
