CALL TO ORDER at 7:05 p.m

 

1.      Continuation of Work session:  Discussion of Model City Tax Code—Al Holler & Associates

2.      CONSENT AGENDA

A.     Consideration & possible approval of Council Meeting minutes dated 04/24/07.*

A motion was made by Dean Porter and 2nd by Sharon Tate to approve the Consent Agenda.  Motion passed; unanimous

 

3.      Consideration & possible approval of directing staff to work with Rodeo Committee and the Town of Taylor for holding the 2007 Rodeo at the Taylor Arena.* (Charlie Hendrickson)

A motion was made by Lavell Gardner and 2nd by Chris Brimhall to do the Rodeo in Snowflake and budget money equal to what is given to other entities.  Motion passed; Dean, Kerry, Charlie opposed and Lynn, Lavell, Chris, Sharon for

 

4.      Consideration & possible approval of 1st reading of Ord #07-291 to rezone property from AG to R-1A.  Owner of the property is Scot Miesel.  The property is located at 1000 North Cherry Blossom Lane in Snowflake, Arizona.* (Dr. Smith)

 

A motion was made by Dean Porter and 2nd by Lavell Gardner to approve 1st reading of Ordinance #07-291 by title only changing the zoning from AG to R-1A.  Motion passed; unanimous

5.      Consideration & possible approval of 2nd reading of Ord #07-293 to rezone property from R-1A to RT.  Owner of the property is Michael & Kristi Gale.  The property is located at 283 East Bellybutton Lane in Snowflake, Arizona.* (Dr. Smith)

A motion was made by Lavell Gardner and 2nd by Sharon Tate to approve 2nd reading of Ordinance #07-293 by title only changing the zoning from R-1A to R-T.  Motion passed; unanimous

6.      Consideration & possible approval of 2nd reading of Ord #07-294 to rezone property from R-10 to MF.  Owner of the property is Kent Stratton.  The property is located at 253 East ½ North in Snowflake, Arizona.* (Dr. Smith)

A motion was made by Dean Porter and 2nd by Chris Brimhall to approve 2nd reading of Ordinance #07-294 by title only changing the zoning from R-10 to MF.  Motion passed; unanimous

7.      Consideration & possible approval of 1st reading of Ord #07-295 to rezone property from R-1A to R-21.  Owner of the property is Michael Weir.  The property is located at 1720 South Farr Lane in Snowflake, Arizona.* (Dr. Smith)

 

A motion was made by Lavell Gardner and 2nd by Chris Brimhall to approve 1st reading of Ordinance #07-295 by title only changing the zoning from R-2A to R-21.   Motion passed; unanimous

8.      Consideration & possible approval of 1st reading of Ord #07-296 to rezone property from R-10 to MF.  Owner of the property is Robert Neff.  The property is located at 584 West 4th South in Snowflake, Arizona.* (Dr. Smith)

 

A motion was made by Lavell Gardner and 2nd by Dean Porter to approve 1st reading of Ordinance #07-296 by title only changing the zoning from R-10 to MF.  Motion passed; unanimous

9.      Consideration & possible approval of Special Use Permit requesting to build an attached mother-in-law apartment on existing home—Bradly Kent Charles.* (Dr. Smith)

 

A motion was made by Sharon Tate and 2nd by Dean to approve the Special Use Permit to construct an accessory apartment for an immediate family member, never to be rented, applying to future owners of the property.  Motion passed; unanimous

 

10.  Consideration & possible approval of Special Use Permit for a preschool operated by Trudy Bryant and Dondy Brinkerhoff.  The property is located at 210 East 15th South in Snowflake, Arizona.* (Dr. Smith)

 

A motion was made by Dean Porter and 2nd by Chris Brimhall to approve Special Use Permit to operate a Preschool on the property located at 210 East 15th South.  Motion passed; unanimous

 

11.  Consideration & possible approval of reestablishing the Municipal Property Corporation for the purpose of conveying approximately 105 acres of land from the Corporation to Langley Temple Hill Estates, LLC.* (Dr. Isom)

 

A motion was made by Dean Porter and 2nd by Chris Brimhall to reappoint as stated and written the MPC for the sole purpose of conveying approximately 105 acres of land from the Corporation to Langley Temple Hill Estates, LLC.  Director/officer appointments are as follows:

            Charlie Hendrickson to a three-year term and Secretary-Treasurer

            John Taylor to a two-year term and President

            Gordon Farr, Jr. to a one-year term and Vice President

It is hereby further moved that upon conveyance the MPC Board Members be then removed.  Motion passed; unanimous

 

12.  Discussion of “sanctuary” policy. (Ms. Leanne Arganbright)
